Welcome to our Wedding in Viana do Castelo, Portugal!
We are so excited to celebrate our special day with you in the beautiful coastal town of Viana do Castelo. Here's all the information you'll need to make your travel plans:
Getting to Viana do Castelo!
By Air:
The nearest major airport is Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) in Porto, which is approximately 60 kilometers (about 37 miles) from Viana do Castelo. From the airport, you have several options to reach Viana do Castelo:
Car Rental:
Several car rental agencies operate at Porto Airport such as Sixt, Avis, and Hertz. It's about a 50-minute drive to Viana do Castelo via the A28 highway. We recommend renting your own personal car as it makes traveling and exploring much easier!
Other transportation:
- Taxi or Ride-Sharing: Taxis and ride-sharing services are available at the airport. The journey typically takes around 50 minutes.
- Public Transport: You can take the metro from the airport to Porto's main train station, Campanhã, and from there, catch a direct train to Viana do Castelo. The train station, Estação de Viana do Castelo, is centrally located in the town and the journey is scenic and takes about an hour. Viana do Castelo is well-connected by train as there are direct trains from Porto and Lisbon.
You may also take a train from Viana do Castelo where our ceremony is located to Carapeços where our Quinta/Venue is on the R3100 Nine line.
